Meta Connect is the VR and social technology giant’s annual event that brings to the public consciousness its latest innovations and current ambitions. For 2023, Meta Connect featured a huge dose of VR and AR/MR/XR news that should have strong implications for the future of VR porn. Here are some major takeaways from Connect ’23.

The Missing Metaverse
This year’s Meta Connect seemed to focus less on showcasing the company’s research and development efforts and more on actual product launches along with the social, productivity, and industry utilization of these devices.
Aside from highlighting how hardware adoption will propel the Metaverse into more widespread usage and engagement, Mark Zuckerberg, in his keynote address, did not directly discuss new movements by Meta to cement a broadly appealing Metaverse. Likely such an advance will eventuate from further adoption of Meta’s upcoming hardware and app releases, but, still, many were disappointed that the Metaverse wasn’t a more prominent part of Connect ’23.
Adventures in AI

Such AI characters bode well for those eager to engage with AI adult performers and VR sex partners. Bridging the gap between chatbots like Replika and suggesting that popular pornstars may soon be used to create AI partners you can not only converse with but likely bang.
The First Podcast in the Metaverse
While Meta Connect was surprisingly devoid of focus on advancing the Metaverse, Zuckerberg took to the Lex Fridman Podcast to not only discuss both the Metaverse but many of Meta’s other ventures in a wide-ranging conversation conducted entirely via Meta’s codec avatars.

Although this showcase of codec avatars used Meta Quest Pro, Zuckerberg stated that he believes Quest 3 will prove an even better vehicle for such new modes of personal communication. While full-body avatars currently remain too taxing of bandwidth to be viable at this level of quality, Zuckerberg gave some clues as to how that could be overcome. Anyone keen on exploring further the potential of VR/XR technology for intimate and sexual expression should be buzzing with ideas about how codec avatars could be used to find sexual satisfaction in new and exciting ways.
Despite the price point, I can’t wait to check out the Quest 3. The reality is shit isn’t getting cheaper, folks.
The general vibe was Meta Connect was underwhelming. You highlighted some of the more interesting points. Great recap.
