Samsung has given consumers a first look at its forthcoming XR headset, dubbed Samsung Galaxy XR. Satisfying the anticipation of brand loyalists and tech pundits alike, Samsung Galaxy XR promises to bring advanced eXtended reality experiences to consumers via state-of-the-art displays, hand and eye tracking, and a light form factor thanks to an external battery pack.
These few features have been revealed by Samsung thus far, but they provide a more solid understanding of what “Project Moohan” will deliver.Previous info leaks also pointed to a bespoke XR platform that would launch alongside this new device, and that, too, appears to be coming to fruition.
Into a New World
Google, in collaboration with Samsung and Android, will be releasing a new XR ecosystem called Android XR in 2025, calling it a “unified platform for XR glasses and headsets.” Android XR will offer far reaching connectivity and will allow such uses as interactive Google Maps-based guidance, real time text and audio translation, and virtual screen displays of near limitless number.
A new Android XR AI called Gemini will answer user’s questions, provide information and direction, and adjust settings to offer a tailored experience. Not much is yet known about just how broadly Gemini will be able to be utilised by users but it’s safe to say there’s ample potential there.
The lightweight form factor of Galaxy XR and the broad application of Android XR could mean big things for AR/XR porn and general adults-only use. The AR porn field is already expanding quickly and bringing increasingly immersive activities to users. A device like Galaxy XR will only serve to bolster that growth.
